Abstract

Using meteorological data collected in Dunhuang Gobi observation site as the force data during summer in 2008 the applicability of Community Land Model on Gobi regions was analyzed by comparison of simulated and observed values. Results showed that CoLM model is capable of providing good simulations of the evolution of land surface energy in extreme arid region,and the simulations shown to be basically in agreement with observations with the high correlation coefficients and the daily variation fits well. But this model also has some defects, bias between sensible heat simulations and observations is large during the max value in daytime, and the simulation is higher during the nighttime. Average albedo calculated by flux data and the value is 0.25. The model' s albedo was modified, and the results are improved.
